Candystripers/

Jr.Volunteers

Student volunteers, ages 14-18 provide valu­able

service work in several areas of the hospi­tal.

Emergency Volunteers

Are to assist the Emergency Staff as directed.

Re-direct patients and visitors to various

depart­ment when they cannot find their way

 and do not require Emergency Services.

Are goodwill ambassadors for our Hospital.

Kidney Information

/Organ Donor

Handing out information about kidney disease.

Info on being a organ donor.

Membership/Sunshine

Keeps a record of membership and sends get well cards to members with health problems.

Mending Hearts

Supporting patients with heart related problems;

 these volunteers distribute literature and

informa­tion, and answer common related ques­tions.

 

School Tours

Conducting tours of kindergarten and

grade one students through the hospital

after a visit to

the school by volunteers.

Vascular Improvement Program 

 V.I.P.

Assisting with programs and information

in the Alumni Tower and the community.

X-Ray Diagnostic Imaging

Reception volunteer provides direction

 and assis­tance to patients and visitors.

Book Cart

Supplying waiting room areas with magazines and placing books in the bookcases on every floor   

Cancer Centre

Assisting with non-medical patient comfort:

greeting of patients, coffee, and goodies cart, assisting patients with library, and wig

and hat bank, etc.  Monday-Friday   

 

Information/

Way Finders

Giving information and taking patients to the

various service areas in the hospital and the wards. 

Directing the public and staff to all areas of RIH.

Look Good Feel Better

Auxiliary and cosmetic volunteers assist cancer patients in makeup, wigs,

and hats and give general support.
