* We are Antonymous Organization within Royal
Inland Hospital.
* Membership decides where the funds are allocated and spent.
* Members convene
Fundraising areas, Caring Programs, and serve on committees.
* Elections held at AGM, February.
* Regular monthly meetings held 1st Monday of the month except July & August.
* All members encouraged to partake.
* Member of the British Columbia Association of Health-Care Auxiliaries (BCAHA).
* 84 Auxiliaries are members.
* Member of the Okanagan Mainline Area (OMA), Auxiliaries within the Interior Health Region.
* Both hold annual conferences,
hosted by a member Auxiliary.
* Some members sent to learn and network with other Auxiliaries.
History
* Afternoon Auxiliary is over 110 yrs.
* November 11, 1899, 34 ladies of
"good character" met and formed the Afternoon Auxiliary.
* 2003 Purchased Thrift Seller building.
* 2010 Auxiliary transferred the service programs to the new RIH Volunteer Services Coordinator
Accomplishments
* Since 1990, approximately 2 million has been raised to purchase special equipment such as, Pulmonary Function System, Instrument Tables,
Breast Feeding Pumps, assorted stretchers, ECG Carts, Birthing Beds and Cancer and ICU Renovations.
